NEED TO DO?
REQUIREMENTS
Complete at least 10 hours of continuing education over a two-year period (at least 4 hours in a given year). Activities like self-study, mentoring, in-person or online conferences, training, seminars related to wheelchairs and/or assistive technology are permitted, and may be combined to meet the requirement
Continue to practice in wheelchair service provision or related activities (eg., teaching wheelchair related content)
STEPS
Enrol, via your ISWP Wheelchair Academy, in the Wheelchair Service Provider Recertification Basic Level
Upload your evidence via your ISWP Wheelchair Academy
Once you complete steps 1 and 2, you will receive an email from ISWP confirming that you completed the recertification requirements

Basic Recertification Requirements
10 hours of Continuing Education (CE) are required for recertification.
YEAR 1
Minimum of 4 hours of continued education.
YEAR 2
Minimum of 4 hours of continued education.
6 weeks prior to the certification expiry, we accept proof of continuing education from the following:

Completed training, and seminars related to wheelchairs and/or assistive technology
Self-study or Mentoring
Please submit a letter from your supervisor or instructor that verifies continued practice in wheelchair service provision while submitting the recertification form.
Submit the supporting documents on our online platform
We will confirm the receipt of the documents within 72 hours of submission and request recertification payment at this time. You will receive your recertification within 2 weeks from the date of submission.

- A WSP can appeal a certification or recertification decision by submitting the request to ISWP in writing within 14 business days after receiving the results notification. The appeal must include a detailed written explanation that specifically states the reason(s) for the appeal and why the appeal should be granted. Failing the examination alone is not sufficient grounds for an appeal.
- Please send your appeal to info@iswp.org. ISWP Certification and Recognition Committee (C&R) will assemble an Appeals Panel of three C&R Committee members who will review the appeal and exam results and issue a decision. Within two months of receiving the appeal letter, ISWP will provide a response to the candidate regarding the outcome of the appeal.
